Registration with RAV

If you are affected by unemployment, it is important to register imediately with the regional employment centre (RAV) in Zug. If you meet the conditions, you will be entitled to benefits from unemployment insurance.

Registration with RAV

Registration

Your unemployment has to be reported to RAV. It is best to sign on immediately after you receive notice of termination. However, do it at the latest on the first day from which you can claim benefits under your unemployment insurance.

It is important for you to start applying for jobs immediately following your notice of termination. You must be able to demonstrate your efforts to find work to RAV. You are required to write down a minimum of 2 job enquires per week on the RAV form. If you fail to meet this obligation, your benefits may be reduced.

The registration process

Signing on serves as registration. Your details and situation will be recorded in detail. When you sign on, you will receive an invitation to an initial consultation. This will be held within 15 days after you sign on. The next consultation appointment will be arranged at each meeting.

Choice of unemployment insurance fund

You can choose any unemployment insurance fund. You can choose whichever unemployment insurance fund you like from the following list, and inform us of your choice at the registration meeting.

After signing up with RAV, you have to register with the chosen unemployment insurance fund in order to claim for unemployment benefit.

Compulsory information for job seekers

It is important for you to be fully aware of your rights and obligations during job seeking and unemployment and informed about the benefits and time limits. Therefore, complete the mandatory information training on the Swiss Learning Hub right at the start (within one week of registration). It will tell you about your "Rights and obligations" and "Benefits and time limits".

Once this training is successfully completed, an automatic email is sent to the job seekers and to the responsible RAV.
